Bird Watching

Overview

Known as "Birds on Wings," this tour ventures into the Syndicate rainforest and plantation area, one of Dominica's finest stretches of oceanic rainforest. After driving along the west coast with opportunities for birding en route, guides brief participants on birding techniques before entering the Syndicate Nature Trail, home to towering Gommier and Chattagnier trees, epiphytes, and stranglers.

Birders may spot the endemic and endangered Sisserou and Jacko parrots, along with species such as the Blue Headed Hummingbird, Scaly Breasted Thrasher, and Lesser Antillean Swift.
